Mount Auburn Book Club: Lessons in Disaster

August 10, 2015

We will read Lessons in Disaster: McGeorge Bundy and the Path to War in Vietnam (2009) by Gordon Goldstein.  Bundy was the National Security Advisor in the Kennedy administration and was a major influence on all foreign policy during that time.  This month marks the 60th anniversary of the beginning of the Vietnam War.  Bundy is buried on Pyrola Path.

Note: We will meet at the Administration Building Conference Room.

Each month, the Mount Auburn Book Club meets to discuss a selected work related to one of Mount Auburn’s many facets.  Selections range from books on history, natural history, horticulture, art, architecture, preservation, and wildlife to books written by or about those now buried and commemorated here.  The Book Club meets on the second Thursday of each month.  Coffee and tea are provided.

Funding for programs has been provided in part by the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
