Mount Auburn is home to many notable Cantabrigians. Some, like James Russell Lowell, were born in Cambridge and educated within its borders. Others, like Benjamin Thompson, born outside of this state, or Gyorgy Kepes, born outside of this country, transplanted themselves to Cambridge, drawn by the city’s educational prestige, engaged by its community, and inspired by its landscape and vitality.
