Service of Commemoration
We invite you to join us for our annual Service of Commemoration. Words and music will help us to remember those who have gone before us during this Memorial Day service on Bigelow Chapel Lawn. In the event of inclement weather, the Service will be held in Bigelow Chapel. The keynote speaker this year will be Reverend Rosemary Lloyd. Refreshments donated by Jules Catering, Somerville and Vicki Lee’s, Belmont.
The Reverend Rosemary Lloyd, a Unitarian Universalist minister, is Advisor to the Faith-Based Community for The Conversation Project, a Cambridge-based non-profit that encourages people to have values-based conversations with their loved ones and health care providers about crucial end-of-life matters.
A graduate of Georgetown University and Harvard Divinity School, Ms. Lloyd served as Associate Minister to the First Church in Boston 2004-13. She teaches The Art of Theological Reflection at Harvard Divinity School and enjoys mentoring and supervising ministers in formation.
A former registered nurse, Rosemary has a lifelong interest in end-of-life care and ethics. She continues to study with teachers Joan Roshi Halifax at Upaya Zen Center and Frank Ostaseski at the Metta Institute for Compassionate End of Life Care.
She is married to Lewis Lloyd. They have 12 grandchildren and live in Lincoln, Massachusetts.
