Interpreting Mount Auburn's Binney Monument

Meg Winslow, Mount Auburn Cemetery Curator of Historical Collections, interprets the Binney Monument, by Thomas Crawford. The Binney Monument, unveiled in 1850, was designated a National Treasure by the White House Millennium Committee to Save Outdoor Sculpture and The National Trust. It is considered by many to be Thomas Crawford’s greatest work of art, and it is the most significant monument of its era in the United States.

This video, filmed entirely at Mount Auburn, is written and hosted by Meg Winslow and Produced, Filmed and Edited by Roberto Mighty. This project is made possible by a grant from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services.
